Should I Be Baptized?
YES, if you have placed your faith and trust in Jesus alone for salvation!
Baptism Interest FormIt is important to know that baptism isn't required for salvation, but is the first step of faith & obedience for believers. The baptismal waters don't save anyone. Only Jesus saves. We believe that you are saved by grace through faith and not by any works (Ephesians 2:8). Baptism is a picture of the work that Jesus has done in a person's heart. We believe that after one encounter with Jesus you will never be the same. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Why Should I Be Baptized?
Baptism illustrates Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Baptism doesn't make you a believer, it shows that you already believe. Baptism doesn't save you; Jesus does! Baptism is like a wedding ring, signifying a relationship rather than forming that relationship. It's an outward symbol of what has already taken place on the inside.
You should be baptized to follow Jesus' example in baptism. He was baptized (Mark 1:9), and commanded us to be baptized (Matthew 28:19-20).
How do I Get Baptized?
At Champion Forest, we baptize by immersion, which means you are fully immersed under water. That's the example we see throughout Scripture, and is the basis for the meaning of the word "baptize," which means to immerse (or dip under) in water.
