Acts 1:1-11
The Promise of the Holy Spirit
1 In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, 2 until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. 3 He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.
4 And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
The Ascension
6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” 9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

Father, may we not just stand, or sit, at church. May we be going and doing and working sharing the good news. Not in our own power and wisdom but filled to the overflowing with the Holy Spirit.
May we prepare the soil, plant seeds, water, cultivate, pull weeds and lift up a bountiful harvest to you.
May none quench the Holy Spirit. May we not play church nor stand on the sideline.
Clothed in the whole armor you only provide, may we go forth as true soldiers, in the army of GOD.
Let’s go…
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen
Gracias Padre por todo tu amor por dejarnos y llenarnos de tu espíritu santo dame sabiduría para hacer siempre tu voluntad y estar preocupada para tu regreso
Praise the Lord for the resurrection of Jesus. He has a plan for his believers. He will return to bring glory and honor to the Lord and show the world how much he loves us.
Come now Lord Jesus.
The world is so messed up and I know you are the only one who can fix it.
Thank you Lord Jesus.
Amen.
Lord, please come now and put our world back together. We need you so much. God the Father help. Hallelujah and Amen 🙌🏻💜🙏🏻✝
We are all called to “be witnesses” (v:8). Actions have witness and are powerful. Don’t let your comfort get in the way of someone’s eternity. Tell what you have experienced, seen and heard.
I will be a witness…
We must be encouraged and continue to encourage others that Jesus will return to bring Honor and Glory!
Once again I stand w/Terry & also Lynn. Once we’ve been empowered by the Holy Spirit, it’s time to go out, expanding little by little all the way to the ends of the earth. May GOD be blessed & praised forever. The disciples were JESUS’ witnesses to go & proclaim HIM & make Kingdom disciples in Jerusalem; from there the Gospel would expand to Judea, Samaria, & the ends of the earth (including Houston). This Kingdom work has continued today through the Church as we proclaim JESUS in the power of the Holy Spirit. Tony Evans said; “the only way for GOD to get you where HE wants you is for HIM to be able to use you where HE has you.” Hopeful words to live by. GOD bless CFBC, HIS body & may the CHURCH (the body of CHRIST) bless HIM. JESUS is KING
I am willing to be a witness for Jesus Christ. We all as Christians are to become witnesses after the Holy Spirit comes upon us with full power to perform signs and womders as Jesus did. We must not ignore the power within us to tell of the hoodness of our Savior.
Be blessed church.
Lord Jesus I can’t wait till You come but not my will but Your Will be done. You wish none to perish. You died and was raised for all our sins. Use me Lord and forgive me Lord when I go before You instead of behind You. For You need to pave the way. Holy Spirit must pave the way. Revive us again. Through the light of Your glory. Hallelujah Amen.
