Genesis 3
The Fall
1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made.
He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.
8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.” 11 He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” 12 The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.” 13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
14 The Lord God said to the serpent,
“Because you have done this,
cursed are you above all livestock
and above all beasts of the field;
on your belly you shall go,
and dust you shall eat
all the days of your life.
15 I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.”
16 To the woman he said,
“I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing;
in pain you shall bring forth children.
Your desire shall be contrary to your husband,
but he shall rule over you.”
17 And to Adam he said,
“Because you have listened to the voice of your wife
and have eaten of the tree
of which I commanded you,
‘You shall not eat of it,’
cursed is the ground because of you;
in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;
18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you;
and you shall eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your face
you shall eat bread,
till you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken;
for you are dust,
and to dust you shall return.”
20 The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. 21 And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.
22 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” 23 therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. 24 He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.

God’s plan for Mankind was to rule over the planet. But God is Sovereign, Righteous, and Loving to Mankind, He shows Mercy and Grace. God is calling us to walk with Him and to know Him intimately.
God know what is best for us, but our sinful nature leaves us prone to trying our own ways.
Lord, help us to choose your way always!
I love the way you phases that.
AMEN and HALLELUJAH!
Dear Heavenly Father,
I know you have plans for us to give us hope and a future. But when we sin and go against your plans we suffer the consequences of our actions. I want to stay on the path you have set for my life. Please show me the way. In Jesus ‘namei pray. Amen
Father,
May your people not be fooled by the devil today.
Walk with us, Father, let us know your presence.
Help us to grow in wisdom and knowledge. May we feed on your word.
Let us work together, bearing much fruit for the kingdom.
Praying in the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen
The church is like the garden of Eden where believers can walk hand in hand together with our creator. Where all paths lead us to the tree of life ( the cross) at the center.
Obey God’s commands, stay in His will and life will be full of joy and peace. Since the beginning…that was God’s desire for our lives.
The serpent, (the devil), is still in the deceiving business! Let us beware of all the enticing things of this world and put our hope on the things above and our trust in our Lord and Savior, “JESUS”, and follow His Word.
In Matt. 16:23 let us substitute our name in the place of Peter. Let us not be a hindrance, but put our mind on following our Lord!
Just like Adam and Eve:
We talk ourselves into disobedience.
Our eyes are opened to our sin, and we feel shame and exposed before God. We want to hide.
God’s Word convicts us, and He clothes us with His righteousness.
We experience the consequences of our sin.
Thank you, Lord, for your grace, mercy, and forgiveness!
The serpent promised life and he delivered death. When Adam and Eve sinned, they traded life for death. When Eve decided to listen to the serpent, she found that the Garden that was once a place of joy and fellowship with God now became a place of fear and of hiding from God. May we keep our eyes turned to the one true God.
Because of Adam, we have the old sin nature. We must strive daily to follow God’s will & not Satan.
Lord, I pray for a heart that constantly longs for obedience. I pray that I do not get in my own way, yet strive to be your hands and feet and example daily.
Satan’s tactics have not changed. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” – John 10:10. But neither has God’s–He always pursues us for forgiveness and restoration. Satan’s agenda is death while God’s is life!
God provided the perfect plan for man, to live in harmony with his maker for eternity. Just like today, we want things we can’t have and the outcome is the same, separation from God. Adam blamed Eve for his sin just as people do today. We blame others for our mistakes.
Yet God loved us so much, that he provided Jesus to save us.
God wants us to be perfect like Him and not sin. Adam could have chosen not to eat of the fruit, but instead he blames Eve for him eating the fruit of the tree. What if he never ate of the fruit of the tree, and obeyed God? What would the world be like today if only Eve ate of the fruit of the tree? If neither one would have eaten the fruit of the tree there would be no sin. Look at how out of control our country and government is know with sin in our lives. We can only blame ourselves for being weak, and not calling on God to help us. We can’t blame anyone else for our mistakes.
Gracias a nuestro padre que mandó y su hijo amado para salvarnos y llevarnos a una vida eterna ?
Good evening Lord!
While Adam and Eve’s disobedience was a terrible sin, I want to believe that they sought your forgiveness and that you showed them your mercy. My own disobedience is a terrible sin and yet I choose to believe that you accept my confession of guilt and request for forgiveness. I trust in you and have faith in your love for mankind. Thank you for being such a great and merciful God!
at this times men do not know what good is they only know evil.. evil is taking over because men wants things their own way.. but God’s love is so big that he says he is one of us now .. this is so true now when we come back to the cross and accept jesus christ as our savior.. Angel’s dance in heaven there is a party because God’s grace he takes us as one of his..
