Acts 1:1-11
The Promise of the Holy Spirit
1 In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, 2 until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. 3 He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.
4 And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
The Ascension
6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” 9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

Our Savior who takes away the sins of the world. Help me walk in victory and not defeat. Thank you for the Holy Spirit who resides inside us every day of our life.
Lord Jesus thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. What a helper he is to me. He helps me pray. He helps me understand Your Word. Like this story. Oh how I would also be fixed looking up in the clouds waiting instead of going and telling the good news. Keep reminding me Lord. In Your Name Amen.
Father,
As the sun rises and moves across the sky,
May I lift my hands to heaven,
And praise your Holy Name.
May I look for you, Oh LORD,
And find you everywhere along my path.
I refuse to curse you LORD, for the thorns in my life.
I refuse, Oh LORD, to bow to the devil and his minions.
Fill me again, this day, with your Holy Spirit.
Hold me tight, Oh LORD, and never let me go.
You are my rock and my shield.
You, Oh LORD, are my light and my salvation.
Whom shall I fear?
Amen.
I have power through the Holy Spirit, and I will be His witnesses.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending your son Jesus who was the sacrificial lamb whose blood was shed for us who repent and believe. Also thank you for the Holy Spirit that dwells within us to guide us until He returns again. Oh what a glorious day that will be! Please watch us and lead us everyday to do your will and open our hearts and eyes to others who may need our help.
May those we meet leave us happier and more aware of Your love . In Jesus’name, Amen.
Your word says this was the record of all Jesus began to do and teach and command His apostles until He was taken up, His ascension. The Lord Jesus had finished all the work of Redemption and was ascending to His Father . He entrusted the gospel of life to His apostles and early believers to share and take to the ends of the earth when the awaited promised Holy Spirit had come & empowered them . God is still at work today, touching hearts and opening eyes , saving people through the work of the Holy Spirit and the witness of His people. -Lord, You have given us everything, Your life, Your word, Your very Spirit to empower and be with us as we continue & carry the message of eternal life and hope to all – until You come again. May You find us faithful.
We have all we need to be who we are called to be to change the world. We can all do our part as we operate in His power and share the good news. Tell others what we have experienced, seen and heard .
Thank for the written witnessed encounters God that your only son rose from the grave with all power and His promises.
Amen
