Jeremiah 23:1-8

The Righteous Branch

23 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord. Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who care for my people: “You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the Lord. Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply. I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares the Lord.

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’

“Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when they shall no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ but ‘As the Lord lives who brought up and led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’ Then they shall dwell in their own land.”

  2. Oh for the day that the Lord will restore America. What a day of rejoicing that will be!

  3. God said that He will give you shepherds after His own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding. Satan will give you false shepherds, one who causes misunderstanding and confusion. Thereby, scattering the flock. God will gather the scattered flock that remained faithful to Him and give them shepherds that feed and nourish the flock. He has given us Jesus the Righteous One who will not have us to be ignorant, but a sound mind.
Thank you Lord for your faithfulness, you know where we are, what we are doing, and what we need. Thank you for righteous shepherds, and righteous flocks.

  4. What a sure Word to hold on to in dark days, knowing that our Great Shepherd and the Righteous Branch is coming back to rule and reign over all – even over all Israel who now recognizes her Messiah and Lord and over all the nations .

  5. We are called to pray for and support the shepherds that God has sent this branch of His church. We are indeed blessed by those who minister in His name. Let’s be faithful!

  6. My favorite Book in the Bible is Habakkuk; I chose this Book many, many years ago because I saw a lot of similarities of my people & the Jews. I asks GOD a lot of questions, I just do not question GOD’s Omnipotence, Omnipresence, or HIS Omniscience. There’s so much injustice, oppression, & hatred & so many Nations & people “bent” on violence & conquest who think that their strength is there god; but unbeknownst to them, God is still in control & is working all things out for our good & HIS glory. When we feel abandoned we still have to make a decision by choice; “to trust GOD or not.” I choose to live by GOD’s Word in anticipation of the Promise HE made. The days that are coming seems so long for the LORD of our RIGHTEOUSNESS to come again. BUT GOD’s timing is perfect & I will quote Habakkuk; “I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in GOD my SAVIOR.” I can rejoice because of WHO GOD is. Thank YOU LORD for providing our Savation.

  7. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want…

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

    Psalm 23

  8. We serve a faithful God Who loves His people! When He makes a promise, we know that it will be kept. Amazing how freely the false shepherds are roaming around in our world today! Their time is certain to come to an end. We can hold on to that promise!

  9. It seems that we are not getting what Gods word is saying. Woe unto false prophets. We sometime do not want to believe a minister or prophet can be a deceiver. But God says He is our true Shephard and those that scatter His sheep He will take care of them. The whole word of God is true we must believe and understand that.
    Be blessed
