Luke 2:41-52

The Boy Jesus in the Temple

41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. 42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up according to custom. 43 And when the feast was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not know it, 44 but supposing him to be in the group they went a day’s journey, but then they began to search for him among their relatives and acquaintances, 45 and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, searching for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48 And when his parents saw him, they were astonished. And his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been searching for you in great distress.” 49 And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” 50 And they did not understand the saying that he spoke to them. 51 And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart.

52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.

  1. Jesus was tending to his Heavenly Father”s business by sharing His Word with others. May we have the same mindset as Jesus and may we treasure these times in our hearts as did Mary . Amen.

    1. Desde muy niño se ocupaba ya de hacer su tarea dado el conocimiento de su Padre Jesus vino al mundo por nuestros pecados gracias por tu enseñanza Maestro

  2. Thank You Jesus, for leaving Your Father for a brief period, to tend to us. We are so undeserving, but we love You so and are so grateful. Praise to You Heavenly Father. Praise to You most Holy Son.

  3. Obedience.

Help us Lord to be obedient to your calling on our lives as Christians to spread the gospel message. Amen

  4. Jesus new who He was and who He belonged to at an early age and understood what His assignment here on earth was. With respect to His parents He told them as well.
When we receive Christ as our Savior we should also be about our Father’s business, spreading the good news of Jesus for the salvation of the world.

    Be blessed church

  5. Was it the same teachers in the temple that were amazed in this story, who later set out to crucify Jesus? He was definitely the same Jesus, showing the same wisdom and knowledge both times.
I want to always be amazed….and grateful and accepting….of His teachings.

  6. JESUS was on a mission from HIS Heavenly FATHER, yet HE had a responsibility to honor HIS earthy parents. Though HIS parents could not teach HIM what HE needed to learn at the Temple. But HE responded to them in obedience. I am a follower of CHRIST & on mission to share the GOOD NEWS to all who are willing to listen. Thank YOU LORD for being my model.
