Luke 12:13-21

The Parable of the Rich Fool

13 Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” 14 But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?” 15 And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” 16 And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, 17 and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ 18 And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ 21 So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

  1. Be rich before God not man. Lay up possessions in heaven where neither rust or mold will destroy but rather Heavenly virtues and possessions that will last for eternity . Amen.

    1. Señor líbrame de toda ambición terrenal y suple lo necesario para nuestra familia amistades y todo aquel que te busca en espíritu y verdad ayúdame hacer mi mayor tesoro en el cielo para cuando tú nos llames

  2. This place is not my home. I work to supply my needs and my family’ s needs. When I am through here on earth, my Lord has prepared a place in Heaven that far exceeds anything I could build or accumulate here.

  3. Father nothing is more valuable than You!
Help me to reflect that truth in and through every area of my life.

  4. A message that has been f ou rgotten or ignored by so many in our world. Either way, it is one that has rewards or consequences! One must choose!

  5. This was a man who hoarded all of his stuff (riches) didn’t share w/anyone, had no compassion for the poor, orphans, Or widows. When the LORD blesses us, it’s so we can be a blessing to others. We certainly can’t take it w/us. May we use our blessings to help fill the Kingdom & have a rich relationship with GOD. Riches is not what a person gains on this side of Heaven, it’s what you gain for eternity.

  6. To be wise in God’s eyes: acknowledge the origin of your increase, recognize with wealth comes social opportunity, share what you have been given. When you are blessed, you can afford to be generous.

  7. Praise the lord🙏 We are so rich as people in America. I pray that somehow this nation can minister to the poor people of the world. Forgive me lord for not always seeing and meeting needs around me. Amen.

  8. This world is not my home. I brought nothing in to it and I will take nothing with me when I leave. He God will supply all of my needs and I will share what He supply with others without wanting the world to know or reward me.

    Be blessed church.
