I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life

14 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.

12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

  3. Yes Jesus You are standing at the door and knocking for You Father wish none to parish. Oh believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved! In Jesus Name Amen!

  5. A friend, and a lover of Jesus, was suffering terribly from cancer and was in and out of lucidity due to the pain. Hours before her earthly death, she was moving her arms about excitedly, smiling, pointing, and we asked what are you doing? “Putting up pretty new curtains in my new room!” These verses remind me of that precious moment and peace that comes when you KNOW a loved one is dying and their earthly death imminent but they are moving onto someplace that has been prepared BY JESUS for ME and may have some pretty curtains to boot!!

    Help me to know the Father and the Son more and more each day.
    Please fill me with your Holy Spirit and help me serve you better.

    We pray for a quick end to the terrible war in Ukraine.
    God please be with our leaders and help them do the right thing.

  8. Faith in personal God brings personal strength. Trouble comes to prove we have faith in God.

  10. “Let not your heart be troubled…” words from my Savior that I say again and again when faced with personal trials or hearing about the crises in our world today. He knew then and knows today that I need those words!

  11. Both Philip & Thomas had misunderstood JESUS. HE had to reassure Thomas that if he knew HIM, he knew the FATHER. Philip thought that he could be like Moses & see a glimpse of the FATHER & JESUS fully revealed the FATHER when you saw HIM, the GOD-man. JESUS was preparing a place for them in Heaven as HE was preparing them for Heaven. Thank YOU JESUS for showing me the Way; I’m following YOU.

  12. Thank you Jesus for your reassurance that you and the Father are one. We often have to be reminded during difficult times that God is a d will always be with us. Like the two brothers we desire the prominent seats, but God already knows our position and He knows what we can handle before we go through anything in this life. He has prepared a place for us where He is we just have to believe.
