John 14
I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me.
“These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe. I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me, but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here.

Devotional
You don’t have to live trapped in constant worry, burdened and overwhelmed. Worry is a habit, and like any habit, it can be unlearned. It’s time to take the first step toward freedom!
That first step is recognizing that God is in control. When Jesus told His disciples that His time on earth was ending, He reassured them: “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me” (v. 1). These words remind us that even in uncertainty, we can place our full trust in Him.
Jesus further assured them by declaring: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (v. 6). This truth is a foundation of hope—Christ is enough. He leads us to God, reveals the truth that liberates us, and grants us eternal life.
He also promised His disciples that they would never be alone. The Holy Spirit, our Comforter, would come and remain with us forever (v. 16). This promise gives us peace and direction, reminding us that God is with us at every step.
Where do you need to trust Jesus more? Embrace His words: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you” (v. 27). His peace will sustain you through all things.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
“Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His love endures forever.” 1 Chronicles 16:34
I am so glad that the aloes is worthy of being trusted, and I’m even more grateful that He gives us faith and strength to trust Him with all of our problems and questions!
It is so good to know our father and to know that he is always there. Oh to know that he will never leave us or forsake us, all we have to do is trust and obey.
Having the assurance that Jesus will never leave us or forsake us is such a comfort. His love is my lifeline! Thank You, Lord for Your unending love!
” I am the way, the truth and the life.” John 14:6 Jesus is the way to true life and peace in this world and my hope of Heaven when He calls me home.
As I walk through difficult seasons I’m comforted by Jesus’ promise to send a Helper, the Holy Spirit to remind me that he is with me. The promise of Jesus’ peace being unlike the world’s peace brings calm in the middle of the battle. I pray that I will lean more on Jesus than on my feelings or worldly advise I may receive. 🙏🏾
Praise God for this glorious day. May His peace reign in our lives and sustain us all day and throughout all things.
Keep the commandment to Love
Jesus will handle the rest for me because I am not orphaned now or ever
I am so happy i can have peace knowing that i can take all my worries and troubles to the Lord. Knowing he will deliver me from them all bc the holy spirit lives within me. Thank you Jesus.
Great reminder to trust and not worry!
Lord, thank You for being THE Way, THE Truth and THE Life. I don’t want to look to other ways/truths, etc. and settle for so much less in my worry or desire for control. Help me look to YOU. Amen.
I need to trust Jesus more with the little things that come up daily. . In His sight, they are not little. Thank you Father for caring and loving me.
An amazing discourse! One that is so essential to my faith. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life…and He came for Me!
It seems I need/want to trust Him more in every part of my life. However in the the daily frustrations especially with teenagers trying to teach them and them have obedience and respect and a live for God, when things are tough I need to trust God more. In the marriage relationship when there are struggles that have been going on for some time that have been a point of prayer and not seeming to change I need to trust God that He is working and the process us taking place. I need to trust God more. Help me Lord with my trusting you. That’s a process I need to trust too…
Thank you Lord for your word! You are in control of everything and I trust you!
I will leave all my worries with my Lord and Savior. I will trust in Him who will take care of me. Praise the Lord and Amen!!🙏✝🕊📖
God is always with us and he doesn’t want us to be worried, distressed about things in our life, and having unnecessary cares. He wants to carry all our burdens. All we need to do is trust him. Trust him, believe in Him, and have faith. How wonderful to have someone 24/7 that we can count on to carry us through it all! Blessings!
Where I need to trust Jesus is that I need to acknowledge the fact that where he wants to take me is where I need to go, because I tend to make myself into an idol in the fact that I am not trusting him about my plans for my life and that is where I need to trust him more.
